Pitched roof seems to be leaking in several locations, possibly slipped tiles as you can see bulges in the roofing felt and what feels like tile from underneath. Could also be a problem with flashing as one of the leaks is along wall to adjoining property where there is flashing above.

Hythe is a charming seaside town on the edge of Romney Marsh, in the District of Shepway on the south coast of Kent, England. Hythe is situated at the start of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, which follows the coastline. This historic railway, opening in 1927, features narrow-gauge trains and spans nearly 14 miles. As of the 2011 Census, Hythe has a permanent population of around 14,516. The town’s name originates from the Old English word meaning ‘Haven’ or ‘Landing Place’. Hythe is renowned for its historical charm, with numerous historical structures, a Saxon and Norman church perched on the hill, and a Victorian seafront boardwalk. The town’s history is marked by two defensive castles, Saltwood Castle and Lympne Castle. Once a bustling Clinique Port, Hythe’s port has disappeared over the last 300 years. The Town Hall, built in 1794, is a striking architectural feature. Hythe’s medieval market, formerly held in Market Square (now Red Lion Square), has evolved into a modern Farmers’ Market held bi-monthly. Housing in Hythe reflects its coastal heritage and modern appeal, including traditional seaside homes, spacious Georgian residences, and modern developments near the seafront. Roofing solutions in the area address this architectural diversity, with traditional materials like classic tiled roofs widely used for heritage properties and modern flat roofing systems like GRP and EPDM membranes favoured for contemporary builds. Typical roofing issues in the area include wear and tear caused by sea air, leaks in older tiled roofs, and insulation upgrades to improve energy efficiency. Local roofing professionals provide expert care, including routine maintenance and minor repairs, full roof replacements, and restorations for period properties. Roofers in Hythe often hold certifications from trusted organisations like the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC), ensuring top-tier service and reliability. Homeowners are advised to choose vetted contractors, particularly for complex projects like restoring slate roofs. Hythe’s proximity to quality building suppliers ensures that local roofers have the resources needed for efficient project completion. Whether repairing storm damage to a Victorian home, restoring a traditional slate roof, or installing flat roofing systems on a modern build, Hythe’s roofing experts deliver tailored solutions. Blending coastal charm with historical significance, Hythe is a fantastic place to live. For all your roofing needs, trust skilled professionals in Hythe to protect and enhance your property.
