We have a regular sized (and already converted) double garage, with a pitched/hip roof, with a flat ceiling internally which is full of spot lights. We are keen to make it a nice living area and think the removal of the flat ceiling and the installation of some kind of window(s) on the roof would be great, ideally which we could cover to avoid it getting too hot/bright in the summer months and cold in the winter etc.

we are looking to install one or two velux type windows in a 1st floor bedroom. ideally we would like them to go as low as possible in the ceiling so that we can see out horizontally (not just a view of the sky!)
if possible we want the 1140/1340 wide version… but the spars are approx 400 centres (they vary!) so this would invlolve cutting a few!!
