We are moving into a house in Woodley on Septe***. We are aware of an Cement Asbestos Water Tank in the loft, there is also potential tiles under the flooring on the ground floor, potential in the ceilings and potentially in some of the slate window ledges. We are looking to get a quote on the removal of the tank as well as testing done for the other areas of the house with a quote for them if there is anymore confirmed asbestos.

We would ideally look at getting the survey and removal done as soon after *** of September as possible. Is this something you would be able to help with?

I have a single garage/outbuilding that has an asbestos roof which needs removing. We are going to demolish the outbuilding itself so would ideally like to get a quote for just removing the roof and a quote for taking down the whole thing. The walls of the garage are just corrugated metal panels.

Please could you quote me (inc VAT, if you charge it) for the dismantling and safe/legal removal of a shed roof made of asbestos, fibre cement and clear plastic corrugated sheeting. In West Bexington, Dorset ***.



I have attached a diagram (the pdf) showing the layout of the roof, and also photos, showing both sides of the roof and an example portion of the interior. The building is a low single storey construction, with the lowest roof height of ~2m from ground level. The roof is pitched, but it is a low angle and so easy to walk on. (See attached picture of the western gable end to show the pitch angle).



The shed will be empty for the work, and has a solid concrete floor; the access outside is all hard standing.



On the north side the plastic sheeting has been replaced or overlain relatively recently, by fibre cement, however please quote for removing all of the materials. All the sheets *** 6in wide with a 3″ corrugation profile. There is some variability in length, but the main groups are ~4ft, 8ft a*** (the longest sheet is the left-most fibre cement, and is arou*** 6in length – but there seems to be only one of these).



If we call *** a*** sheets: ‘Long’, and the ~4ft sheets: ‘Short’ (the latter have been cut to fit and are quite variable; most are ~4ft, but some are ~3ft and one ***)…



Then, the total of (non plastic) sheets is 20 long and 20 short. In addition to these there are 11 ridge tile pairs.



Your vehicle will be able to park on hard-standing close to the shed, (need to drive through a farm-yard to access)

Because removal and carrying down of the long sheets will be required, this will be a 2-man minimum job.



On the north side the lowest sheeting is about 2m from the ground, On the south side the shed roof is easily accessed by a flat roof. Although all the sheets will be removed to the hard-standing to the north.



The sheets are held in place by ‘nails’. These will probably be easiest dealt with by bolt cutter or angle grinder). Some are already rusted away / missing etc.
