    we are renovating a building with two different aged roofs, both have issues with leaks. one is more modern with felt and leading. there appears to be an issue with some of the leading and around a chimney. the other is older without felt but with plaster under the tiles. some of the tiles have slipped or are missing which has caused some water damage underneath.

    I have an ongoing problem with water penetration which appears to originate from my chimney. It was re-rendered and painted five years ago to rectify this problem. However, I am still getting water stains on the ceiling and wall which forms part of the chimney breast in my master bedroom. I have also noticed that there is moisture in the roof space during the winter months which might exacerbate the problem and require venting. My two-bedroom cottage is approximately 150 years old.
