    hi there, i’ve recently had a survey conducted on a property i am looking to purchase in burntwood. the survey has highlighted some issues with the roof space that i’d like to get rectified.

    the roof structure is formed of trussed rafter construction.
    within the roof void, we could see no signs of significant deflection or movement.
    the lining under the roof coverings has fallen in places.
    the roof void does not appear to be sufficiently ventilated and there is a risk of condensation, damp and mould occurring. fixed air vents should now be installed to ensure a good flow of ventilation.
    insufficient insulation is provided to parts of the roof void.
    the trussed rafters are inadequately braced together. to reduce the risk of movement, we recommend the installation of longitudinal and diagonal bracing for additional support.
    end restraint is inadequate to the roof structure and gable and party wall straps should now be fitted, to connect the roof structure to the end walls.
    a closer inspection of the eaves over-lap areas is also advised.
    i can also provide photos for reference.
