I have an internal door lined with asbestos and parts of the old heating pipes made from asbestos. Could you please give me a quote how much the removal would cost. The pipes had been removed by the previous owner and are now in the garden. The door is very easy to remove. Thanks in advance

I am requiring some work done in my attic due to a contractor who was performing an inspection only at the request of the previous seller of the property who then proceeded to remove an asbestos cement water tank without authorisation. In doing this the tank was broken up leaving fragments and dust in the attic and in particular on the loft insulation. After having these fragments tested it was confirmed chrysotile, I have been advised that I may now require the attic to be fully tested and cleaned but I obviously have yet to have any specific firm in to verify this.

My wife and I have current situation since buying our first home regarding an Asbestos problem. To keep it brief, during the move in process we found what looked like an old asbestos water tank and intimated within the 7 days of accepting the keys to the property where our solicitors ‘McQueen Legal’ then took over. The seller who we believe has a contract with a maintenance company as they have several properties they let out, including the one we purchased unknowingly. Basically the they were trying to fix a few issues in the property before we moved in according to the missives and on one particular day after getting confirmation via email and my own research online verifying the tank being asbestos, one of the contractors who is not a specialist in this field had access to the property via my wife’s uncle and proceeded to look at this but did not inform us until later in the day whilst we were both at work via email that he had removed the tank saying it was not an asbestos cement tank. I investigated this later that night as I was convinced that there was no way it could be removed unless broken up, having checked this I confirmed it was broken up in the attic into several pieces and I found fragments etc left and possibly even more asbestos dust settling in the attic that we can’t verify due to the nature of this danger. I used a mask and gloves to obtain a sample and had it tested by the science lab here in Edinburgh who has written to me confirming it is “Chrysotile”. My concern is that we wish to use this attic and we feel very uncomfortable being in there due to this hazard which this contractor has now caused us. I am looking for advice on this and to what sort of costs may be incurred to firstly inspect this and perhaps then proceed to clear up as suggested by my solicitors. I appreciate any advice you may be able to offer me on this situation.
