    Our slate roof is in poor condition, with nail rot and tiles slipping. We will be pleased to be advised on whether it is best to keep the existing slates or a new material, though we like the appearance of the slates. A complication is that we have 8 solar panels and a water heating panel. Our solar provider will remove the solar panels before the work and put them back after. However we don’t currently have a maintenance agreement on the water heating panel. We are looking for a roofer who is used to working with panels on the roof.
