    good afternoon,

    my partner and i are currently in the process of purchasing a house. the survey came back earlier this week and mentioned that there could be asbestos in the kitchen. after a back and forth between the surveyor and the vendor, we have found out that the possibility of asbestos comes from a very specific area of the kitchen, indeed the majority of the textured walls has been confirmed to just be wallpaper.
    it has been noted, however, that the texturing on the archway between the kitchen and diner is much more rigid than wallpaper. i have attached photos for an idea of scale. keeping in mind that it is only present on the archway and not on the rest of the walls/ceiling, how much would it likely cost to: a) get it tested to ascertain whether or not it could pose a risk, and b) remove the artex?
    the vendor has got in touch to let us know that the arch is hollow, would it then be easier/cheaper (and indeed possible) to just remove the entire arch in a safe manner? if so, how much would this likely cost?
