    I am buying a property and this is what the survey came back and said.

    The ceilings over the landings and outside the bathroom are coated with a textured finish (‘Artex’ or
    similar) which might contain asbestos. This is not a risk unless the material is disturbed e.g. cutting
    through or removing it by dry scraping which can release fibers. I have provided further information
    about Artex in section I4. If you wish to have the Artex removed, you should either have it tested
    first to determine if there is asbestos content, or assume that there is asbestos, and instruct a
    suitable contractor to remove it safely.


    I am looking to get a survey to see the severity of this and see what I need to do next. The lady currently living there did not know about this when she purchased the property and hasn’t disturbed it. However I want to get it checked out before I move forward with the sale.
